Fear of Something Wonderful

Frankly, I don't like carousels. I did not know this fact until Tiffany and I went to the oldest running carousel in the US here in Burlington. For the oldest carousel, that sucker sure could move. Built in 1905, it is known as the "Jewel of America" I like to call it "Here comes my milkshake". .

Here is a point on which we differ. The carousel and the ferris wheel were always the things I loved most... flying and riding. I love feeling like I am on the adventures with you two. Sorry about the milkshake...

She didn't really puke. We were disappointed that the carousel pieces didn't go up and down, until we discovered that they went around so fast that if you let go you really did tip to the right. It was like living a nightmare. I'm afraid if they went up and down it would have been like an ejection seat, or the scene from Mary Poppins where they come unfastened and race through the country. Small children (and 2 grown women) were intermittently giggling and screaming in terror at the thought.
